Somehow, it's January again. The tree's barely down, the cricket's still on, and buyer enquiry is already warming up.
Before we jump into 2026, we just want to say a big thank you. Whether you bought, sold, rented, referred someone our way, or just read these updates and silently judged our jokes, we appreciate you being part of our year.
So what's ahead for 2026? This year's shaping up to be a bit of a mixed bag, in a good way. According to early forecasts, property values in many parts of QLD, and across the country, are expected to continue climbing, especially in areas with tight supply and ongoing infrastructure investment.
While we're not in a boom cycle, there's still solid upward pressure. CoreLogic's December data showed values in Queensland rose by 8.6% over the last year, and with population growth still outpacing new builds, that trend's likely to continue.
Mortgage rates are another one to watch. While the RBA held firm through late 2025, there's growing talk of rate cuts mid year, which could give buyer budgets more breathing room and spark renewed competition.
Did you know? Apparently 58% of Aussie homeowners still have no idea what their property is worth. If you're one of them, that's an easy fix, and a smarter move than joining a gym this month.
Whether you're upsizing, downsizing, investing, or just curious, the new year is always a great time to check in, get a feel for the market, and figure out your next move, even if it's just planning for later in the year.
If you ever want to talk through options, just give us a shout. We're always up for a coffee and a chat, no clipboards required.
P.S. If one of your resolutions was to sort out the house stuff, consider this your sign from the email gods. That alone deserves a cold drink and a chat about property.
